I've read that sometimes the set up for a still life can take longer than actually painting the still life. This was nearly the case here. The different shapes of these blue bottles and vintage Royal Ruby glass just seemed to beg to be in a still life together. But, initially, I was torn on the background color. I finally settled on the yellow and love it - another primary! After quite a bit more time was spent arranging and re-arranging the pieces and lighting, here it is.
A view from my studio while my Affenpincher and I wrap up the last touches to this piece at sunset. :)
